Gloria Davis Browning, MEd, RDN, SNS is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in San Diego County, CA. Her private practice, Savor and Soothe, is focused on reducing the symptoms caused by inflammatory conditions and promoting the health of the gut-brain axis through culinary skill development and nutrition therapy. She also works as a consultant dietitian.
She has earned an Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America, a Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics and Food Administration with a minor in Hospitality Management from California State University, Long Beach, and a Master's Degree in Nutrition Education through Framingham State University's distance program. Her dietetic internship was completed through another distance program at Iowa State University, during which she obtained her School Nutrition Specialist certification. She recently completed a certificate in Nutritional Psychology.
Her professional experience spans a number of areas of hospitality and nutrition, including school and hospital foodservice, eating disorder treatment, restaurant management, and nutrition education.
In her spare time, she likes to do all kinds of puzzles, explore new areas in her hometown and beyond, and spend time with her friends and family, including her 8 backyard chickens and her rabbit. She volunteers with UCSD’s Center for Microbiome Innovation, is the Secretary for the California Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, San Diego Board, and will be the incoming President-Elect for the 2021-2022 Board.
